Cookie Policy
Legal · Cookies
This Cookie Policy explains how Pera Meta B.V. uses cookies and similar technologies on the AI Skills Assessment platform (operated under the trade names "PeraByte Labs" and "Pera Meta"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device on subsequent visits, remember your preferences, and operate features that depend on persistent state (such as keeping you signed in). Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags.
2. Categories we use
Under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (as implemented in Dutch law in the Telecommunicatiewet), consent is required for the storage of, or access to, information on a user's terminal equipment, except where strictly necessary for a service explicitly requested by the user. We use the following categories:
- Strictly necessary. These are required for the Service to function and cannot be turned off in our systems. They are typically set in response to actions you take, such as signing in, setting your privacy preferences, or filling in forms. They do not store any personally identifiable information beyond what is needed to operate the session. Consent is not required for this category. Examples: authentication and session cookies set by our authentication provider; security cookies (CSRF protection); a local-storage entry recording that you have accepted these Terms.
- Privacy-friendly analytics. We use a cookieless analytics service to count aggregate visits and measure performance. This service does not set cookies on your device, does not use cross-site tracking, and does not build profiles for advertising. Because no information is stored on or read from your device, no consent is required.
- Marketing or advertising. We do not use any marketing or advertising cookies and we do not embed third-party social media tracking pixels.
3. Why we do not show a cookie banner
We only set strictly necessary cookies and use cookieless analytics. Under EU and Dutch law, consent is not required for these. Showing a consent banner where consent is not required would be misleading. If we ever introduce cookies that do require consent, we will present a granular consent interface before any such cookie is set.
4. Cookies set by third parties
When you sign in with Google, your browser exchanges authentication cookies directly with Google as part of the sign-in flow. Those cookies are set by Google under Google's privacy policy and are outside our control. If you choose not to use Google sign-in, those cookies are not set.
5. How to control cookies
You can manage and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse new cookies, delete existing ones, and notify you when a cookie is set. Refusing strictly necessary cookies will prevent the Service from functioning correctly, including signing in.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we change the technologies we use. The current version is always available at this URL with the "last updated" date below.
